Y’ello Care 2025: Connecting at the roots, empowering communities
Bayobab Press

At Bayobab, our mission of Connecting Africa goes far beyond digital infrastructure - it’s about building bridges of opportunity, inclusion, and empowerment across the continent. This year’s Y’ello Care 2025 campaign was a powerful reflection of that mission in action.

Under the theme “Connecting at the Roots,” our teams across Africa and the Middle East came together with purpose, passion, and heart to give back to the communities that inspire and sustain us. From digital literacy to sustainability, from youth empowerment to health and wellness, every initiative was a step toward a more connected and inclusive Africa.

A legacy of impact

Y’ello Care is more than a campaign, it’s a legacy of being a responsible corporate citizen. It’s about showing up, year after year, to uplift communities and create lasting change. In 2025, our teams demonstrated what is possible when we act with intention and unity.

Highlights from across our footprint

Here’s how our teams brought the spirit of Y’ello Care to life:

  • Central African Republic: Raised awareness on sickle cell disease, reaching over 300 people through public education and a major conference.
  • Côte d’Ivoire: Built a multimedia room for blind students at Félix Houphouët-Boigny University, enabling digital access and independence.
  • Ghana: Partnered with a local institute to sew school uniforms, restoring dignity and access to education for dozens of students.
  • Kenya: Led an eWaste Collection Drive and supported elderly residents at Nyumba ya Wazee with meals, cleaning, and companionship.
  • Nigeria: Introduced students to digital connectivity at the Cable Landing Station, mentoring them on AI, online safety, and digital careers.
  • South Africa: Built a solar microgrid and upgraded a community centre in Orange Farm, and hosted Youth Masterclasses to inspire future leaders.
  • Uganda: Equipped a community library and ICT centre with tools for economic empowerment, supporting teen mothers and vulnerable youth.
  • United Arab Emirates: Led eWaste and clothing donation drives, and packed and delivered over 600 care kits to women in a Dubai labour camp.
  • Zambia: Supported Munali Boys Secondary School’s journey to the AI for Good Youth Challenge in Geneva, spotlighting Africa’s digital potential.

A collective effort

This impact would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, the support of our leadership, and the collaboration of our partners. Together, we have shown that connecting at the roots means investing in people, communities, and the future of Africa.

Looking ahead

As we look to the future, we are excited to build on this momentum. Y’ello Care 2025 has reminded us that real impact happens when we connect with purpose. Bayobab is committed to continue to connect, empower, and transform, one community at a time.
