Mohamed Bassit (Mohamed Abdelbassit) is the Chief Communication Platforms Officer (CCPO) at Bayobab, appointed in September 2025. He is responsible for leading the strategic growth and execution of Bayobab’s communication platforms business across MTN’s footprint.

With over 25 years of experience in ICT, international wholesale telecoms, mobility services, and digital infrastructure, Mohamed brings a wealth of industry knowledge and leadership to the role. His career spans the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa, where he has consistently driven innovation, scale, and sustainable growth.

Prior to joining Bayobab, Mohamed held several senior leadership roles, including Chief Wholesale Officer and Regional CEO for Middle East & West Africa at Liquid Intelligent Technologies. There, he led the launch of a new fibre operation, an international data centre in Nigeria, and major connectivity projects across the continent.  Earlier in his career, Mohamed played a pivotal role at BICS, expanding its footprint across the MENA region and held leadership positions at GBI and MACH (now Syniverse).

Mohamed holds an MBA, a bachelor’s degree in Finance, and a CCNA certification. He is widely respected in the wholesale and mobility industry for his strategic insight, strong partnerships, and ability to scale businesses.
