Niraj Shah is the General Manager – Data Centres Programme at Bayobab, appointed in September 2025. He is responsible for leading the strategic expansion of Bayobab’s data centre footprint across Africa, positioning the company as the preferred platform for hyperscalers, enterprises, and government entities seeking world-class colocation and cloud solutions.

With over 15 years of experience in the data centre and digital infrastructure space, Niraj brings deep commercial and technological insight to the role. His career includes founding and leadership positions at IXAfrica and iColo, where he focused on strategic growth, business development, partnerships, and building ecosystems that support scalable and sustainable infrastructure across the continent.

Niraj has played a pivotal role in shaping Kenya’s data centre industry, leading large-scale engagements with hyperscalers, cloud, and content providers. He has represented Africa at high-profile regional and global industry forums, sharing insights on the continent’s evolving digital landscape.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University at Turlock and is a member of the Africa Data Centre Association (ADCA) and the Data Cloud Global Congress Leadership Committee. Niraj is widely respected for his leadership, collaboration, and ability to drive transformation in the digital infrastructure space.
